Residency Permit Workflow

Overview

The residency permit workflow covers short-term and long-term residence permits for foreigners living in Türkiye. This is Ikamet’s primary service.

Required documents (standard short-term)

  • Valid passport (min. 6 months beyond permit end date)
  • Biometric photo (4 pcs, recent)
  • Proof of accommodation (notarized rental contract or property title)
  • Health insurance valid in Türkiye
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement)
  • Application fee receipt

Workflow stages

Renewal trigger

The renewals engine flags permits at 90, 60, 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry. At 60 days, an outreach sequence begins:

  1. WhatsApp notification to customer
  2. Task created for assigned agent
  3. Status moves to RENEWAL_DUE

Province notes

  • Istanbul: Highest volume; appointment slots are competitive. Book 8–10 weeks before expiry.
  • Ankara: Faster processing; walk-in appointments sometimes available.
  • Antalya: Seasonal backlog (summer peak). Apply early.
  • Izmir: Mid-range processing time.

Common rejection reasons

  • Insufficient fund documentation (minimum threshold not met)
  • Health insurance not valid for full permit duration
  • Accommodation document not notarized
  • Expired passport submitted
  • Address mismatch between documents

Compliance flags

Flag for COMPLIANCE_REVIEW if:

  • Customer has overstayed a previous permit
  • Passport nationality requires additional screening
  • Document authenticity cannot be verified
